Hey there,

My name is Jordan Lai and I'm a UX Designer.
I design digital products for inclusivity, accessibility and utility.

Currently, I'm a final year student at Singapore Management University, majoring in Information Systems and Digital Business.

Previously, I have interned at MDDI, Capgemini, Mighty Jaxx and more.

Background

My interest in design grew from working on digital products that aimed to make life easier, especially for people who aren't always considered in typical design decisions, like seniors or first-time users. I have had the chance to work across product management, research, and UI/UX in school projects and internships, and through that, I realized how much I enjoy being part of the process that turns ideas into real, usable experiences.

Design Philosophy

I believe that design is more than just how things look, it's how they work, how they feel, and how they make people feel. For me, good design starts with empathy: understanding the people we're designing for, their goals, their frustrations, and the small moments that shape their experiences.

My approach to UI/UX is grounded in the belief that digital experiences should be inclusive, intuitive, and thoughtful. I enjoy diving into the “why” behind people's actions and figuring out how to translate those insights into meaningful interfaces.

I see design as a bridge between people and products, and I want to help make that bridge feel as seamless and human as possible, regardless of their background, ability or experience level.

Things I Love

When I'm not designing or building something, you'll probably find me playing video games or binge watching Netflix shows with some good kaya toast. I love to travel with my girlfriend and experience different cultures and enjoy cold weathers, escaping from the heat here in Singapore. I also spend my time volunteering with kids on the autism spectrum, which has taught me a lot about empathy, communication, and slowing down to truly listen, something I carry into my design work too.
